“My top three tips for dressing for the winter seasons…” – written by @feguimaraess (a.k.a Fernanda Guimarães Guaratto)
In April this year, I got married in Brazil and moved to London in the same week. What a big change in life, and in my wardrobe. Moving from a tropical country to the UK made a big difference to my style and how I think when I’m creating my outfits.
I have quite a basic style in general (but also love an animal print), always comfy, love accessories, trainers and flat boots. Now I have to remind myself to keep warm (and stylish!), and I have to confess I love to create outfits for lower temperatures (sorry Brazil, I still love the summer dresses and open sandals).
Today I’m going to share my top three tips for dressing for the winter seasons…
1. Look at the composition of the pieces. Wool, cotton, cashmere and merino can be your best friends and keep you warm at all times! The prices are usually a bit higher but they are worth the investment. Another option is to invest in heat-tech tops, trousers and socks to wear underneath your clothing.
2. Always thinks about the accessories! I’m always with sunglasses (even if it’s not sunny, I love the colourful and lighter shades), a bag and always remember to keep your head, neck and hands warm with nice and stylish accessories – think warm scarves in the above fabrics, and fluffy gloves.
3. Coats! I’m always with a warm coat but it has to be stylish as well. Think about colors, a pattern, texture and the faux fur ones! I have a huge collection at home and I just love them!
