Q&A with LIKEtoKNOW.it Awards Best of Fitness Winner @a_southerndrawla_southerndrawl
Grace from A Southern Drawl is a powerhouse in the fitness and fashion influencer industry and our go-to for the chicest gym attire. Learn how she got her start in the industry, the challenges of launching her second channel, FITwithASD, and how she stays motived to serve up serious fitspo.
How did you get your start in the influencer industry? I started my blog in 2011 as a way to connect with others. I quickly found that sharing my personal style and creating inspirational content is what I’m passionate about. Now, with the creation of FITwithASD, I’m able to connect with people on a fitness level! It brings me so much joy to have the opportunity to inspire people to become healthier versions of themselves.
What inspired you to launch FITwithASD? I’ve always had a passion for fitness, but I failed to come across a good platform that provided people with *every* piece to the puzzle. I wanted to teach people everything that I learned the hard way, which is how FITwithASD.com was born.
What has been the most challenging part of expanding your influencer business into the fitness industry? A Southern Drawl has been my full-time job for awhile now and as many people know, the influencer business can be stressful and at times, difficult. Fitness has always been a way for me to escape that stress. I have always kept it private, because it is something so close to my heart. At first, it was hard to open yet another window into my life — a window to a part that has always been so therapeutic for me — but I knew that if I could inspire just one person to live a healthier life, then it would all be worth it.
What is your favorite quote? How does it resonate with you? “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” People always ask me how I stay on track, and this quote sums it up. A healthy lifestyle is a habit.
Favorite Stay-Fit Tip: Consistency is key. Lifestyle changes do not happen overnight and you won’t see results unless you are consistent.
