Can you tell us about peonylim.com, and how it's evolved?
I started the blog in 2010 after being photographed outside my uni by street style photographers. My uni was right next to the BFC LFW show space, so I really was in the right place at the right time. I wasn’t really a keen blog reader, which I think helped me define my own style without any expectations of what a blog should look like. It was always a passion project (but with a focus), and I had my first job in the first month of the site.
Over the years it has evolved, and now I cover luxury lifestyle (travel, fashion, beauty, food and more). I really enjoy sharing things I love and building a community of likeminded people.
Can you talk us through your amazing skincare routine?
I love skincare and makeup equally but I think no amount of makeup can help if you don’t get your skincare sorted.
Let's talk fragrance; what are your favorites to wear?
I have different notes that I like to focus on more depending on the time of year.
In the summer, I like fresher fragrances, and I love a citrus note. Some of my favorites include Hermes Eau de Mandarine Ambrée, Frederic Malle Bigarade Concentree, Atelier Cologne Pomelo Paradis, and Serge Lutens Fleurs D’oranger.
Between seasons, I like a rose fragrance like Jo Malone Red Roses, Frederic Malle Lipstick Rose, or Aerin Garden Rose.
Do you have any rules for specific skin types?
If you have dry skin – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. More serum, then more, then moisturise to lock it in.
For oily skin, try not to touch it too much, you don’t want to spread germs across your skin or move your makeup.
For breakouts, try you best not to pick, if you have to squeeze wait till it is totally ready (no pressure should be needed) and use tissues to keep the area free of germs. If you pick or press to hard you will end up damaging your skin and that mark will last much longer than the actual spot.
For puffy skin, ice therapy and massage is a game changer, you won’t recognise your face!
Aside from beauty, what else can we expect to see on your LIKEtoKNOW.it profile?
I often share outfits I have worn on my stories that might not make it onto my main Instagram feed. Also my fave picks from the sales.
I really like sharing my favorite new fashion pieces or the best jeans or shirts I have found recently, plus some jewelry always find its way on there too!
