Styling Tips for Moms by Aamothersedit: Exclusive Q+Aamothersedit
Meet Ashley; Mom of two, and style guru behind Aamothersedit.
With Mother’s Day around the corner in the UK, where Ashley is based, we sat down with her to talk about her wardrobe edit and how it’s changed since becoming a Mom.

What was your motivation to start Aamothersedit?
I’d spent an entire year in a newborn bubble, wearing the same old jeans and jumpers dragged off the floor, and I was determined to start making an effort again to make myself feel better about my appearance. Posting my daily outfits gave me a reason to dress up again – it really helped with my self-confidence.
How does being a mother edit your wardrobe choices on a day to day?
It’s all about time now; it’s the most precious commodity when you have your own family. My wardrobe is more streamlined and everything can be mixed and matched. I have very little time to think about how I pair things, so I have lots of good shirts, tees, and sweaters that I can just pull on and go. I also have a lot more dresses – the easiest thing to throw on without a seconds thought. Finally, if I find something that wears and washes well, I buy it in every colour.
What advice would you share for nailing the mirror selfie?
Don’t take yourself too seriously – I love playing around with how I stand in the shots. Some outfits speak for themselves, but some need a hip-pop to show off the curves of a body-con dress, or a casual banister pop-up to show the masculinity of an oversized blazer.
Top 3 spring wardrobe essentials?
A little white dress like the H&M one; or a Love Shack Fancy design paired with ankle boots, a broderie anglaise blouse (there’s some amazing ones in H&M at the moment), and a pair of Veja canvas trainers (mine were from The White Company and are as comfy as plimsolls).
What’s in your LIKEtoKNOW.it wish-list right now?
I have a wish list from & Other Stories as long as my arm – their new season collections are just gorgeous and there’s so many content creators rocking their pieces in the app. They have a beautiful earthy brown polka dot wrap dress I would love to wear this Spring, and their edit of the Nike M2k Tekno is amazing; I’m lusting after the white, red and blue design.
Do you have any plans to get your children more involved in Aamothersedit?
I made a decision when Vivienne started school to not share too much of her life anymore. I just felt like she’s her own little person now, with her own relationships, and I didn’t feel right sharing personal things about her with so many people. With Margot being so young, I guess potentially… but whoever said never work with children or animals was right; it’s a hell of a lot harder than taking pictures of a dress!
