Q: What are you wearing today?
A: So today I’m wearing some black high-waisted trousers with a silk blouse tucked in, and a pair of black patent heels.
Q: How do you plan your 9-5 wardrobe?
A: What I like to do the night before is plan what I’m doing the next day, and if I have a day of meetings I like to wear some shoes like this which have a block heel. They’re super comfortable and perfect for running around from meeting to meeting. I also like to choose one statement piece, like this gorgeous sixties dress and pair it with staple items like a black roll neck or ankle boot.
Q: Top tips for staying organised?
A: As I said before, I like to plan everything the night before, and I also like to make sure I have a bag that’s big enough to fit everything in. I also like to carry around this Aspinal of London journal with me everywhere incase I have any last minute meetings, or if I need to jot down any notes.
Q: What’s your signature style?
A: If there’s one piece of clothing to describe my signature style, it would be a wrap dress! My favorite at the moment is this gorgeous slinky number from River Island in a beautiful geometric print. I also love a fit and flare dress and this one from Oasis has the cutest hearts all over it, and it’s the perfect length for work.
Q: Ultimate 3 workwear essentials?
A: My first would be a knitted top – especially for winter to keep you warm. You can mix and match it with everything. A pencil skirt is an absolute workwear staple and I love this one from Reiss – it’s knitted and it’s got lovely button detail down the front. It would look perfect with a pair of patent heels and it’s so flattering. My 3rd workwear essential for winter is a long camel coat. It’s super long, perfect for work!
Q: How do you inject style into your 9-5 wardrobe?
A: A great way to inject some style into your wardrobe is to take a pencil skirt, but in a really fun print. So I love this one from ASOS, it’s in a check print and it’s got a nice slit up the front but not too high so it’s still appropriate for work. Another way is to take a plain pair of trousers like I have on now, but mix it with a fun print like this silk blouse just to jazz it up a bit.
Q: Fave unexpected workwear texture?
A: My favorite unexpected texture to wear to work is leather and suede, and this skirt from Oasis actually combines the two. It’s the perfect length for work and I love the color – it goes with everything. I also love wearing knitted dresses for work, and this one is in the most beautiful rich green color.
Q: Fave influencers to follow in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app?
A: One of my favorite bloggers to follow on LIKEtoKNOW.it is @oliviajeanette_. She has the most amazing workwear style and she’s always inspiring me!
